…grew up in Elyria Ohio (Lorain County). After graduation she received her Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry from Kent State University. She double-majored for a year at Cleveland State University to earn a second major in biology and did research on rheumatoid arthritis at Case Western Reserve University.. She was accepted to CWRU School of Dentistry in 1999 and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2003. She then elected to complete a 1 year graduate general practice dental residency at the then Medical College of Ohio.
In July 2004, Dr. Amy joined Dr. Richard J. Salander, DDS as an associate and would eventually go on to become the business owner as of October 2008. Dr. Amy is currently on faculty at the University of Toledo Medical Center Dental Clinic where she oversees 5 dental residents in the General Practice Residency. She has been chosen to take on the responsibility of overseeing the operating room full reconstructive dental surgical cases for underprivileged and special needs patients who come from Michigan and other parts of Ohio.
Amy is married to her husband Doug. They have 2 children; Tyler and Alivia. She loves to travel with her family, to be creative, and TO SHOP!!
